So What Are We, Really?

No clicks, no page reloads, no spinners (no snake on the buffering screen, though!) – your mix loads fast and is easy to navigate in. Tapes are up to 3 hours long, so you can prepare the entire evening’s playlist in advance. You can even add new clips to your mix during playback.
Feed your tapes with TwitterNEW
You can harvest videos from Twitter! Just add Twitter usernames to a tape and all the YouTube videos they post will be added to it. New material will be added to either to the tape’s beginning or its end – great for either a party tape or a self-updating newscast. Just start experimenting and see where it leads you!
Customize Your LooksNEW
The first impression is often the most powerful one. So to set your tapes’ gallery thumbnails and widget splash screens, just flip through the thumbnails of the YouTube videos you’ve used on a tape page to select the most fitting one. This will also be the background for the tape page.
Intuitive Editor
Dragging and arranging the clips in the visual editor requires no more skills than using a tape recorder. The tape player fully supports what we call “a couch editor mode” – minimal controls, a smooth transition between playback and editor modes and an intuitive way to handle your favourites.
Trim & Fade clips
The Trim and Fade functions help you create the most seamless realtime mixtapes possible – just cut the video parts you don’t need, set a number of seconds for fading in/out and bam! – your audio and video is in a continuous mix!
Share, Share, Share
Dragontape is your bookcase for web video. Whatever you end up putting into your mix is basically you. So we made it supereasy to share that with the world, whatever your preferred brand of social media might be – post directly to Facebook or Twitter account or your personal blog.
The Magic Widget
You can embed your mixtapes right into your blog post or even into Facebook updates. The embed code for the web is located on the Share panel. Alternatively, you just have to link the tape URL.
Video & Beat Surgery
Dragontape allows you to focus on the most relevant part of the videos you include, cutting away the rest – just click on the scissors icon or doubleclick the video in the editor to cut away the fat. Also good to know: if you put clips in an overlapping arrangement, Dragontape always plays the video that’s placed topmost.
Access YouTube Features
Dragontape’s search box gives you direct access to your public YouTube playlists and bookmarked favorites – simply type ‘favs: username’ or ‘playlist: username’ in the search field. You can search for the videos of specific YouTube users by entering the ‘uploader: ‘ command.
Ready to rock & rumble!
When you share a Dragontape mixtape with your friends, you have the option to unlock it so they can add their own favorites. This is democracy at its best – everybody has a vote and nobody loses!
Mixtape Gallery
You can choose to post your best mixtapes to the Gallery simply by making it public (option is found on the tape title panel). Public tapes go straight to the Dragontape homepage, and if we happen to like it, it may even make it to our weekly staff pick post.

Pick Twitter users who regularly post videos you like, add their names to your tape and whenever they post something new, it appears in your tape!
