If you are familiar with Android hacking and modding you may have heard of a custom ROM called Cyanogenmod. This line of ROMs is the most popular in the android community. The latest line was Cyanogenmod 8 for Honeycomb, which nobody heard about and was pretty much a dud. However, Cyanogenmod 7 (a stock Gingerbread ROM) is still a hit and I currently run it. If you haven’t heard, Android 4.0 recently went AOSP, which basically means Google released it to the public for modding and developing. Cyanogenmod recently announced Cyanogenmod 9, a stock Ice Cream Sandwich ROM. We are looking at an Alpha hopefully by January and a final release later. Let’s hope this blows us away.

I downloaded 7 and looking forward to 9.
