The Chinese and American Solar markets are bumping into each other this year as they both reach the one gigawatt hurdle of annual installed solar. The US crossed this line somewhere at the start of September while China is expected to cross the line December 31th 2011. Many people think China will be a multi gigawatt solar haven in 2012. China has surpassed the USA in funding for green technology for years. China’s government has plans to expand its installed capacity to 20 Gigabytes by 2020– a feat that will be enabled by a instituted solar feed in tariff. The government recently announced China’s first-ever national feed-in tariff set at 1.15RMB per kilowatt-hour [about $0.18 per kilowatt-hour] for projects approved in the first half of 2011. This makes Obama’s solar and green job plan almost look unfeasible for the USA if the government doesn’t start opening up to new plans going forward (tariffs and production).

Your right we need to start thinking about how we are going to up the Solar Installs going into 2012.
