Google is now changing the way people surf the internet, well atleast in the bay area and Kansas for now. Thousands of the lucky residents in the Bay Area and Kansas are now using Google’s one gigabyte broadband service.

The service is recognized as the fastest internet connection in the world! Yes those Stanford University kids are sitting back getting the best once again.

A 95 megabyte movie trailer downloaded in nine seconds. Just look at this download speeds were up to 288 Mbps with a upload speed of 140 Mbps.

To get some kind of relation to how fast that is look at Comcast’s cable service which has a average speed of 13 Mbps which is about 1/20th the speed of Google Fiber!

Kansas city is the only place to get Google Fiber and right now they are doing this experiment to see how fast we can invent new things. How many more apps can be created and basically changing the internet under the rest of the worlds feet.

You see

Lasy year, Google prodded cities and town across the US to make their pitches to be the home of the much sought-after network, which is capable of downloading Internet data at one billion bits per second.

More than 600 communities applied.

The first community ever to get it was Kansas City then some areas around the bay area like Stanford. Just who else is on the list in the future??

We thought maybe they are looking at some stats to choose their next city right? Well look at these stats based on this chart we may be able to predict future Google Fiber citys based on this list.
